The position is based in U.S.A, Canada, Columbia, Argentina, and Mexico. The person should be self-starter with ability to do hands-on work with little or no supervision or guidance. He/she is expected to have formal educational qualifications in quantitative methods/operations research/statistics. Experience in the travel and transportation industry in the areas of revenue management, pricing, and scheduling is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop business requirements and product specifications
- Translate business requirements/specifications into use cases
- Interface between product management team in Dallas, Texas and the development and QA teams in India
- Ensure that product meets the specifications through final review
- Work with development team to implement forecasting and optimization models. This involves data collection, data analysis, forecasts calibration, optimization model tuning, etc.
- Support Sales teams in new business development efforts – demos, benchmarking analysis, presentations, and RFP support
Educational Qualifications
- Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or Quantitative business analysis/operations management
Other Skills
- Excellent Word, Excel, and Power Point skills
- Basic knowledge and experience with forecasting and optimization packages such as Cplex and SAS
- SQL and .Net programming is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience
- About 3 to 5 years experience
- OR/forecasting models in logistics and transportation
- Revenue management, pricing, and scheduling in the travel and transportation industry
- Successful track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Ability to work with remote global teams as well experience in working across teams/individuals from various functional areas
